Head (1968, Bob Rafelson)
Bob Rafelson’s directorial debut (co written and produced by Jack Nicholson) was originally made as an effort to convey that the Monkees themselves were a joke and that they were all in on the joke (since Rafelson was the creator of the Monkees TV show). However this is no A Hard Day’s Night, simply put… it is an experimental mess that doesn't work.
Bob Rafelson also directed: Five Easy Pieces, The King of Marvin Gardens & Blood and Wine
Rating: 1.5 / 4
