Solaris (1972)

Today in 1973, the United States' first space station is launched called Skylab so I'm thinking... Solaris.  This is my personal favourite Tarkovsky film and it does an amazing job at exploring a strange phenomena that is happening to the men in the Solaris space station.  It is a haunting and mysterious piece of Sci-Fi being very original and maybe a little slow at times yet if you give this film a chance, it is impeccably rewarding.
